The ingenious Battle Engine within Legendary: Heroes Unchained has been meticulously designed to govern the intricate dynamics of hero interaction and resilience across a multitude of battle scenarios. Commencing with 5v5, turn-based encounters in a player-versus-environment (PvE) setting, battles come to life. Here, a team comprising up to five heroes squares off against a computer-controlled ensemble of up to five adversaries. Employing a strategic repertoire of attacks, skills, and ultimates, heroes vie to outlast their opponents and emerge victorious.
Beyond the realm of PvE, this engine harbors ambitions that transcend. Throughout the Early Access and Live Operations phases, this singular Battle Engine is primed to serve an array of contexts, poised to shape countless forthcoming endeavors. The ebb and flow of battle unfolds across rounds, each hero contributing an action during their designated turn, assuming they remain standing. The commencement of each round heralds the initiation of an Initiative roll by all heroes, a pivotal factor determining the action sequence for that round. This roll, ranging between 1 and the hero's Dexterity stat, ascertains the hierarchy of actions. Heroes, in turn, undertake their actions based on this order. It's worth noting that if a hero is incapacitated prior to their turn, their action is forfeited.
